A Warning to the (Epi)curious
Food has been at the heart of my visits to Normandy since I was ten years old and avidly improving only my cake and icecream related French. This winter will be no different. The recipes here make no claims for any kind of culinary authenticity, however we might define that, though they do often foreground some of my most cherished elements of Norman food culture (and blithely omit others. Those of you looking for gizzards and andouilette will be disappointed and must continue your search elsewhere I fear). They are simply a record of the food with which we soothed, celebrated, welcomed, rewarded and grieved over the course of one winter. They have not been tested and are very much suited to my perhaps over generous and slap dash culinary approach. Bon Chance.
